ICG 669 and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC) are bringing George Willis, CSC, SASC &  Carlos Esteves, CSC back for the CSC Lighting Faces Workshop.
CSC Lighting Faces is a 2-day workshop that offers participants practical knowledge on the fundamentals of achieving the most efficient and captivating lighting setups. Instructors will demonstrate the importance of background geometry, perspective, texture and colour for the best camera placement. 
Topics Include:
  • Hard and Soft Lighting 
  • Contrast Ratios 
  • Broad, Short and Glamour Lighting 
  • Types of Light Fixtures 
  • Light Control 
  • Modeling 
  • Depth of Field 
  • Colour Temperature 
  • Inverse Square Law 
  • Composition 
  • Single and Two Camera Setups
  • Please bring a light meter if you have one for practical exercises.
  • This is not a workshop for beginners. Must have working knowledge of how to light a scene. 

Accessibility: Please enter at west side of building at the 2nd floor.  Doors open at 8:30 for coffee and workshop starts 9am sharp.  This is an ICG 669 Green Event. Please bring your own water bottle, coffee traveller mug and plate/utensils.

Reminder: Every member is eligible for a $400 subsidy per 24 month period from the Training Fund to reimburse eligible training costs. Eligible training costs are costs incurred by the member for training related to cinematography. Reimbursement requires a copy of a paid invoice or receipt, and requests can be forwarded through the office.
Prairie members are now eligible for an additional $400 for travel expenses per 12 month period to access workshops not offered in their local area.
